Though the screen on this SUV is pretty small, the icons are big and the resolution is nice. The top trim will get a surreal 14-speaker Harman Kardon system which is trim exclusive. You can get a similar setup from Rockford Fosgate and an amplifier for $420 extra for a better overall experience. The standard choice for the sound output here is a set of 6-speakers which will be sufficient enough. The Ascent isn't a top-tier SUV and thus there are very few options in the stereo. All the trims above Base one come with a better 8-inch touch screen which again is small by today's standards.
2022 SUBARU ASCENT ONYX EDITION INTERIOR ANDROID
The 2022 Subaru Ascent underperforms here in the infotainment department with its small 6.5-inch touch screen but thankfully we do get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay standard even on the lowest trim. Ignoring the base trim, the Subaru Ascent has all the features of a luxury vehicle like heated and ventilated seats and memory settings for the driver seat along with interior lighting. Getting on the third row is fairly simple with manually folding second-row seats. Headroom and legroom is plenty, no problems on that front. The optional captain's chairs on the second row are comfortable but with the bench type seating it feels a little cramped. The front row seats have a good amount of bolstering for this class of SUVs but it’s the second and third row that suffer a little. On that note, the seating arrangement on the Subaru Ascent is not particularly great.
